SAN JOSE, Calif. — The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that midfielder Kaedren Spivey has been called by the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team to the 24-player roster for the squad’s upcoming training camp to be held from Sept. 24-Oct. 7 in Marbella, Spain, that will include three international matches.
In Spain, Head Coach Alex Aldaz and the USA will face the Republic of Ireland on Sept. 30 at Banús Football Center, followed by a match against Norway on Oct. 3 at Banús Football Center, and concluding with a game against the Netherlands on Oct. 6 at La Quinta Football Center.
Spivey, 17, signed a contract in January 2025 as a Homegrown Player with the Earthquakes’ Major League Soccer First Team through 2028 with a club option for 2029. On March 14, 2025, he made his professional debut with the club’s MLS NEXT Pro team against the Tacoma Defiance. He has enjoyed a breakthrough 2026 campaign for Earthquakes II, making 26 appearances (25 starts), amassing four goals and three assists heading into the team’s MLS NEXT Pro Playoff Play-in Game on Oct. 11 at PayPal Park vs. Tacoma.
Last year, the midfielder represented the Quakes in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game in Austin, Texas. In 2024, the San Jose native was named the MLS NEXT Under-15 Most Valuable Player presented by adidas after a breakout campaign, scoring 11 goals in 21 games.
This will be the final camp for the U.S. U-17 MNT before Aldaz chooses 21 players who will represent the USA at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The U.S. will open the World Cup on Saturday, Nov. 21, against Montenegro, then faces Chile on Tuesday, Nov. 24 and finishes the group stage vs. Algeria on Friday, November 27 (10 p.m. local). The U.S. will play all its group matches at Aspire Zone, a sporting complex located in the Baaya district of Al Rayyan, Qatar.
The U.S. roster for this camp features players from 18 clubs, nine from Major League Soccer and nine from European leagues. Red Bull New York and Columbus Crew are represented on this roster by three players each.
