The San Jose Earthquakes U-14 Boys’ Academy team is set to compete in the Nexen Manchester City Cup in Oceanside, Calif. during May 23-27. The Quakes, led by head coach Dan DeGeer, have been drawn into Group A of the 2005 International Super Group where they will take on Manchester City, Atlanta United FC and Strikers FC.
This year’s Man City Cup will feature elite academies from MLS and Liga MX as well as Australia’s Melbourne City.
Tournament Playoff Structure:
The Quakes have been placed into one of six groups in the competition. Following group play, championship playoffs will include all six No. 1 seeds and two wild-card teams. The remaining teams will be drawn into silver and bronze playoff groups depending on their results in group play.
