ACADEMY UPDATE: April 23, 2018

On Saturday, April 21 the U-13 and U-14 Boys’ Academy teams took on EBU Bay Oaks and the U-15, U-17 and U-19 Boys’ Academy teams took on Barca Academy. The U-13s won 11-0, U-14s won 5-0, U-15s lost 2-0, U-17s lost 2-0 and U-19s lost 3-1.  


On Sunday, April 22 the U-13 and U-14 Boys’ Academy teams took on San Joaquin Valley and the U-17 and U-19 Boys’ Academy teams took on Real Salt Lake Academy. The U-13s won 8-1, U-14s won 5-0, U-17s won 3-2 and U-19s lost 3-0.  


The Boys’ Academy teams will take on Santa Cruz Breakers on Saturday, April 28, and Santa Rosa United on Sunday, April 29. Times and locations for the matches can be found here.


Last weekend, the U-17 and U-19 Girls’ Academy teams traveled to Southern California to face San Diego Surf on Saturday, April 21 and Albion Soccer Club on Sunday, April 22. On Saturday, the U-17s lost 4-0 and the U-19s lost 8-0. On Sunday, the U-17s won 2-1 and the U-19s lost 4-0. 


The U-17 and U-19 Girls’ Academy teams will take on Burlingame Soccer Club on Saturday, April 28. Times and locations for the matches can be found here.


In other news, Quakes Academy midfielder Sophie Jones scored her first international goal to help the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team defeat Costa Rica 4-0 in their first match of the CONCACAF Championship. The CONCACAF Championship in Nicaragua has been cancelled due to player safety concerns.
