ACADEMY UPDATE: May 7, 2018

Academy Update

On Saturday, May 5, the Boys’ Academy took on multiple teams. The U-15s and the U-19s took on Nomads SC and the U-13s, U-14s and U-17s took on San Juan SC.  The U-13s won 7-0, U-14s won 3-0, U-15s won 2-1, U-17s won 2-0 and the U-19s lost 1-0.


On Sunday, May 6, the U-15, U-17 and U-19 Boys’ Academy teams took on San Diego Surf. The U-15s lost 6-0, U-17s won 3-1 and the U-19s won 4-0. 


The Boys’ Academy teams will take on Silicon Valley Soccer Academy this Saturday, May 12. Times and locations for the matches can be found here.


On Saturday, May 5, the Girls’ Academy teams took on Placer United. The U-14s tied 3-3, U-15s won 1-0, U-17s won 5-1 and the U-19s lost 2-1.


The Girls’ Academy Teams will take on Crossfire Premier on Saturday, May 12 and Reign Academy on Sunday May 13. Times and locations for the matches can be found here.


In other news, Quakes Academy Players Jean-Julien Foe Nuphaus (U-19 MNT), Andrea Kitahata (U-16 GNT) and Abby Borchers (U-16 GNT) have been called up to their respective national teams. Nuphaus started in the U-19’s 8-0 win over Kazakhstan in the Slovakia Cup. Kitahata and Borchers will begin the UEFA Women’s Development tournament in Portugal on May 12.


Quakes Academy defenders Israel Carrillo and Casey Walls completed their call up to the U.S. U-16 BNT, earning third place in the Torneo Delle Nazioni after defeating Japan 2-1.
