June 26, 2015 – The Earthquakes acquired forward Quincy Amarikwa from the Chicago Fire

Originally selected in the third round (No. 32 overall) of the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by the Earthquakes, Amarikwa returned to the Quakes via trade with the Chicago Fire in exchange for defender Ty Harden on June 26, 2015. Amarikwa has tallied nine goals and eight assists since returning to the Quakes in 2015.



June 29, 2016 – The Earthquakes announce multi-year USL affiliate partnership with Reno 1868 FC

In June 2016, the San Jose Earthquakes announced that the club has signed a USL affiliate partnership with Reno 1868 FC beginning in the 2017 season.  In February 2018, the San Jose Earthquakes and Reno 1868 FC announced the two clubs have extended their affiliate partnership through the end of the 2019 season, with an option for 2020.
