FEATURE: Cade Cowell on Playing Against His Former Club, Ballistic United

Cade Cowell - vs Ballistic United Academy

Cade Cowell, the newest San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown signing, continues to impress at the Academy level. On March 16, the 15-year-old traveled with the Quakes U-17s to take on his former team and Quakes Partners in Development club, Ballistic United.

Cowell would go on to score the Quakes’ lone goal of the match to help the U-17s secure the win. After the match, we spoke to Cowell about facing his old club.

sjearthquakes.com: How did it feel to play against your old club?

Cade Cowell: “It felt good. It felt really good. There were a few of my friends on the field so it was fun to go and compete against them.”

SJEQ: You scored the game-winning goal for the Quakes but it was against your friends on Ballistic United. What was it like out there?

CC: “It felt really good, especially against a team like that. It was great because I’ll make fun of them and laugh with them after. It will be fun. I have five friends on the team that are my best friends so it will be one to talk about.”
