1. Wondo one away from Kreis: With 14 goals this season, Chris Wondolowski has 107 in his career -- one shy of tying NYCFC coach Jason Kreis for fifth on the MLS all-time list. Wondolowski stayed razor sharp with his fifth goal in the last six matches in the 35th minute of a 1-1 draw against the Montreal Impact on Wednesday. After Quincy Amarikwa was dispossessed of the ball, it rolled to Wondolowski, who calmly shot into the corner. The amazing Wondolowski has amassed 100 goals since the start of the 2010 season, 32 more than any other player in MLS.

2. Light the Lampard: It might have come too late to save the season, but New York City FC's midseason Designated Player signings Frank Lampard, 37, and Andrea Pirlo, 36, finally hit stride in a 2-0 midweek win over Toronto FC, moving the expansion club into eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Lampard had his first goal with the club and Pirlo added two assists. NYCFC also boasts Spanish superstar David Villa, 33, who leads the club with 15 goals, but has been out with a hamstring injury. The Italian Pirlo left Juventus and Serie A to come to MLS. England's Lampard left Manchester City in the EPL, but has been bothered by a nagging injury. Of course, Quakes players will look at the so-called "Baby Blues" as just another team. NYCFC has allowed 48 goals, 15 more than the Quakes.

3. An old friend: While this is strictly a business trip for the Quakes, who are on the brink of cracking the top six and moving into a playoff position, the club is sure to renew old acquaintances with longtime Quake Jason Hernandez, a NYCFC center back. Hernandez, a New York City native who played at Seton Hall and starred at Paramus High in New Jersey, has started 22 games this season. He was selected by New York City in the 2014 MLS Expansion Draft from the Quakes. The popular Hernandez played with the Quakes from 2008 to 2014. In his final season, he passed Richard Mulrooney to become third on the Quakes' all-time games played list with 165. He is third in all-time minutes played with 13,859 and third in starts with 160.
