Earthquakes Academy midfielder Andrew Paoli has been called into the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team for the upcoming Vaclav Jezek Tournament in the Czech Republic from Aug. 10-21.

Paoli and the United States will begin group play against Slovakia on Aug. 16, followed by matches against Hungary on Aug. 17 and Russia on Aug. 19.

Paoli, 17, was last called up to the U.S. U-18s for the side’s first international camp on March 7-17 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The San Jose native receives the call-up after earning 2016 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Player of the Year honors in the Western Conference in July. During the Academy campaign, Paoli played in 29 games, making 28 starts and tallying four goals, while providing a consistent presence as a defensive midfielder.
