NEWS: CEFCU Movie Night Series Returns to PayPal Park

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Movie Night Series, presented by CEFCU, will return to PayPal Park for the sixth consecutive year from June 13 – July 25. The Movie Night Series will bring films to the stadium’s large video board during six Tuesdays this summer, creating a family-friendly event where moviegoers of all ages can share an outdoor viewing experience. The six movies to be featured in the 2023 Movie Nights Series are Minions: Rise of Gru (June 13), The Lego Movie (June 20), Raya and the Last Dragon (June 27), Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (July 11), Lyle, Lyle Crocodile (July 18), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (July 25). Showtimes will begin at 6 p.m. PT for all six screenings, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. PT. Movie watchers can park in the Audi Lot behind the stadium.

CEFCU and the Quakes Foundation will also be accepting back-to-school items and digital donations at the main gate of PayPal Park on each movie night, benefitting local students in preparation for the upcoming school year. Additionally,

Minions: Rise of Gru follows the origin story of the iconic supervillain sidekicks and the journey to find a new evil boss to serve. Minions: Rise of Gru was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Family Movie in 2016.

Set in a world made entirely of Legos, The Lego Movie follows the story of an ordinary guy mistaken as an extraordinary being and the key to saving the world. The Lego Movie was awarded Best Animated Feature Film and earned an Academy Awards Best Original Song and Grammy nomination for “Everything is Awesome.”

Debuted in 2021, Raya and the Last Dragon is set in an ancient world of magic and dragons, and the journey of a lone warrior trying to save her world from sinister monsters. Raya and the Last Dragon earned nominations for Best Animated Feature Film at the Academy Awards and for Best Motion Picture at the Golden Globes.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish follows the back story of the star cat Puss as he seeks to restore his lost honor after being blamed for a crime he did not commit. A year after it was released, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish won the Blimp Award for Favorite Animated Movie.

Taking place in New York City, Lyle, Lyle Crocodile tells the story of a young boy’s struggle to fit in until he makes a new friend who so happens to be a crocodile. Starring singer Shawn Mendes as Lyle, the movie was nominated for Best Family Movie at the Movieguide Awards.

Spider-Man: No Way Home debuted in 2021 as the third installment of the Spider-Man series starring Tom Holland. In the movie, Spider-Man encounters his biggest challenge yet when he is exposed to new heroes and villains from different multiverses. The film was nominated for 59 awards and won 24 of them.
