Quakes SuperDraft pick Paul Marie named to USL Team of the Week

Contributions on both ends of the pitch earned Reno 1868 FC defender Paul Marie a starting spot on the USL's Team of the Week Tuesday. Marie has been a top contributor as an offensive-minded defender during Reno's record 16-match unbeaten streak. In Reno's most recent USL win against LA Galaxy II on Wednesday, Marie recorded an assist, completed 36 of 45 his passes and won eight of 13 duels overall. Read the full story here.


Francois Affolter Obtains Green Card, No Longer Occupies International Spot

The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that defender Francois Affolter has obtained a U.S. green card and no longer occupies an international spot on the club's roster. The green card drops the Quakes from eight international players to seven. Affolter, 27, joined San Jose in July 2017 and made his Quakes debut on Aug. 12 against the Houston Dynamo. Earthquakes To Host A&W Root Beer Float Night on July 28

The San Jose Earthquakes will host their eighth annual A&W Root Beer Float Night on Saturday, July 28, starting at 5:30 p.m. PT in the 7UP Epicenter prior to the club's match against Real Salt Lake. The Western Conference matchup is scheduled to kick off at 7:15 p.m. Fans will have delicious A&W Root Beer Floats prepared for them by local celebrities, including NBC's Ian Cull, ABC7's Matt Keller and KTVU's Maureen Naylor, and athletes on the Quakes Special Olympics Unified Team. Three Quakes Academy Players Called Up to U-14 GNT Camp in Fort Collins

U-15 Girls' Academy players America Frias, Yuna McCormack and Elise Evans were called up to the U.S. Under-14 Girls' National Team Camp, held in Fort Collins, Colo. U.S. U-14 GNT head coach April Kater has called up 36 players, 27 born in 2004, eight born in 2005 and one in 2006. The first U-14 GNT training camp of this year was last February in Norco, Calif., and featured 48 players, and the second was in San Diego in May and featured 36. The Earthquakes were one of two teams who sent at least three players to the camp. Read the full story here.
