SAN JOSE, Calif. — The San Jose Earthquakes unveiled today their 2027 Major League Soccer Sprint Season Schedule presented by Habbas Law, the one-of-a-kind campaign that launches MLS’ transition to a summer-to-spring calendar. The 14-game slate features seven matches at PayPal Park—including the Feb. 27 home opener against Houston Dynamo FC, as well as visits from in-state rivals San Diego FC and LAFC—and closes with a Decision Day showdown against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on May 8.
The Sprint Season is unlike any campaign in league history. Every MLS club will play 14 regular-season matches, facing each of its 14 conference opponents exactly once—seven at home and seven away. With no room for a slow start, every result carries extra weight. The top eight teams in each conference advance to the single-elimination Audi 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs, and Sprint Season results will also determine berths in the 2028 Concacaf Champions Cup and 2028 Leagues Cup.
The only way to guarantee a seat to all 2027 Earthquakes home games, as well as current 2026 MLS Cup Playoff access and preferred pricing is by purchasing season tickets.
“The 2027 MLS Sprint Season offers a very exciting home schedule for the Earthquakes, and will be a very interesting and challenging competition for our team,” said Earthquakes Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena.
The Earthquakes open the Sprint Season on the road against the Portland Timbers at Providence Park on Saturday, Feb. 20 (2 p.m. PT), before coming back to San Jose for the home opener against Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, Feb. 27 (5 p.m. PT). After a trip south to face rival LA Galaxy in the 107th California Clasico across all competitions on Saturday, March 6 (7 p.m. PT), the Quakes return to San Jose for a two-game homestand at PayPal Park against Real Salt Lake on Saturday, March 13 (7 p.m. PT), and Minnesota United FC on Wednesday, March 17 (7 p.m. PT).
The Black and Blue then visit Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, March 20 (5 p.m. PT), before the club’s bye week on March 27. San Jose returns to action at PayPal Park on Saturday, April 3 (7 p.m. PT), against the Colorado Rapids, followed by a two-game Texas road trip against Austin FC on Wednesday, April 7 (5 p.m. PT), and FC Dallas on Saturday, April 10 (5 p.m. PT).
April closes with a pair of marquee in-state matchups at PayPal Park, as the Quakes host San Diego FC in the El Camino Rivalry on Saturday, April 17 (7 p.m. PT), followed by a road trip to face St. Louis CITY SC on Wednesday, April 21 (5 p.m. PT), and then a return home to host SoCal rival LAFC on Saturday, April 24 (7 p.m. PT).
The Earthquakes conclude the road portion of the schedule at Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, May 1 (2 p.m. PT), before the regular season comes down to Decision Day. On Saturday, May 8 (5 p.m. PT), San Jose hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC at PayPal Park in a finale that could decide the Quakes’ postseason fate, with the Audi 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs and MLS Cup presented by Audi to follow later in May.
