SAN JOSE, Calif. — The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that forward Darius Johnson has been called to international duty by the Grenada men’s national team for the upcoming window. Â
The Spice Boys will compete in a quartet of Concacaf Nations League matches against Cuba at home (Friday, Sept. 25), Saint Kitts and Nevis away (Monday, Sept. 28), Bonaire away (Friday, Oct. 2) and Bonaire at home (Monday, Oct. 5).Â
Johnson, 26, joined the Earthquakes in May from USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC and has appeared in four games in his early MLS career. After joining PRFC in 2024 from FC Volendam in the Dutch Eredivisie (2019-24), the 26-year-old Johnson scored four goals and recorded five assists in 50 appearances (28 starts) across all competitions. Before his time in the Netherlands, he played his first senior club minutes in England for Rising Ballers Kensington FC and later in Premier League 2 for Chelsea FC’s Under-23 team.Â
A native of Chelsea, England, Johnson is of Grenadian descent and has earned 14 caps for the Grenada National Team since September 2023, scoring twice.Â
The Earthquakes continue their homestand Saturday, Sept. 26, against the Portland Timbers. Kickoff from PayPal Park is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT, with the match to be broadcast on Apple TV (English/Spanish), as well as via local radio on KSFO 810 AM (English) and La Kaliente 1370 AM (Spanish).
